788 Star Club: A Fusion of Art, Culture, and Technology

CTRC Design Consultant Ltd. Brings Life and Nature to Clubhouse Design

The inspiration for the design came from the elements of water droplets, haze, rock walls, and bamboo forests. The owner of the clubhouse, an art collector, wanted the space to reflect the artistic conceptions through abstract techniques. The design team achieved this by contrasting the rough stone wall texture with the delicate and exquisite art collection, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of hidden treasures in a cave.

What sets the 788 Star Club apart is its unique use of lighting and space. The entrance features irregular glass hangings that form different sizes of water droplets on the white stone platform. This effect, combined with the placement of small elephant statues on either side of the gate, symbolizes fortune in Chinese tradition. The ceiling of the restaurant features blister lighting of varying sizes, creating a visual echo throughout the space. The use of bamboo in different shapes adds depth and layering to the space, symbolizing the gathering of like-minded friends.

The design team used digital visual and lighting effects to bring the concept of life and nature to life. The combination of these effects with soft music and fragrance creates a unique sensory experience for those who enter the club. The design also features a tripod, a precious antique originally used in the palace of the Qing Dynasty in China for burning incense. The designers used an imaginary haze image to integrate the tripod with the overall design, creating a visual effect that can be seen from various angles.

The project, located in Hengdian, China, began in April 2018 and was completed in November 2018. The design team faced challenges in executing the project due to the local contractor's lack of experience, particularly in terms of detail work and workmanship. However, through extensive review of mockups and samples, the designers were able to achieve their design expectations.

The 788 Star Club is a testament to the innovative approach of CTRC Design Consultant Ltd. The design team successfully combined traditional Chinese elements with modern design techniques to create a space that is not only visually stunning but also culturally significant.
